Content Update

CAYIN provides the following methods for you to upload files to SMP players:

Network Shares (Network Neighborhood)

There are two methods for you to update content via Network Shares:

Method 1: CAYIN Device Seeker

  1. Insert the product CD into your CD-ROM, and run CAYIN Device Seeker (\Tool\Device Seeker\seeker.exe). You can also copy this file to your PC for future management.
  2. Click Seek and the seeker will search all available SMP players and CMS servers in the same LAN. When the devices are found, select the one you want to connect, and click Open Folder.
    Note

Your PC and SMP player have to be in the same LAN, so that you can use CAYIN Device Seeker to open the Media Folder of that SMP.

  3. Your PC will open File Explorer and you can see files and folders in your selected player.
  4. Copy multimedia files from your PC to the SMP player via Network Shares (Network Neighborhood) and then you can start to play those files in the SMP player.

Method 2: File Explorer

  1. SMP player's IP address
Open File Explorer and enter \\SMP player's hostname or \\SMP player's IP address. For example, if the SMP player's hostname is SMP-6000, please enter \\SMP-6000 or \\172.16.1.205.
  2. Copy multimedia files from your PC to the SMP player via Network Shares (Network Neighborhood) and then you can start to play those files in the SMP player.

USB Storage Device

  1. Login to SMP Web Manager and go to SYSTEM > Service > Media Folder.
  2. Tick the checkbox: Allow updating content from a USB storage device. Then click Save to save and apply the settings.
  3. Now you can insert your USB storage device (usually a USB flash drive or USB HDD) to update the content into Media Folder.
  4. You can also use a USB storage device to upload system configurations. You simply need to store the configuration file in the root directory of the USB device and insert the device into the SMP player.
Note

The USB file system supported by SMP players is FAT/FAT32/NTFS. If you use FAT/FAT32 in a USB storage device, we strongly suggest you that all characters in filename should be in lower case due to file system's limitation. It may not be a problem if you configure to play all files in the device or in specific folders. However, the filename must be in lower case, if your playlist includes any specific filename.
