Network > Wireless Settings

Wireless Settings

  1. Go to Network > Wireless.
  2. At the top of the page, you can see the model of Wi-Fi adaptor you are using now. If you don't attach any compatible Wi-Fi adaptor to this SMP player, you will see N/A here.
    Note

If you connect wired and wireless network to the player at the same time, the system will choose the wired one as the first priority, and will switch to the wireless one automatically when you unplug the wired Ethernet connection.

  3. Click Search available wireless network and choose a suitable wireless AP (Access Point). Please be aware that a low-signal AP may lead to an unstable connection and data loss.
  4. Choose an appropriate authentication and encryption method. Normally, these settings can be detected automatically when you choose a wireless AP. Please enter the key if necessary.
    Note

If you use WEP, the key will be 5 or 13 characters, 10 or 26 hexadecimal. If you use TKIP or AES, the key will be 8~63 characters.

  5. You can choose to use DHCP to obtain an IP address or assign a static IP address to the SMP player. However, we suggest you use static IP address for more stable wireless connection.
    • Enable Obtain the IP address from a DHCP server if the network supports DHCP protocol for obtaining the IP address automatically.
    • If you want to assign a fixed IP address, enable Static IP address and enter all relevant information.
IP address You have to enter a valid IP address.
Subnet mask You have to enter a valid subnet mask.
Gateway You have to enter a valid gateway if you want to access Internet; otherwise, you can only use LAN.
DNS-1, DNS-2 Please enter at least one DNS server address if you want to use the domain name (www.example.com), instead of numerical IP address to connect to Internet.
