Redundancy

You can set an additional CMS as your backup server on the Redundancy page. Redundancy service provides a more stabled and secured playback environment for the SMP players managed by a CMS server, by syncing all the settings and contents into a back up CMS server.

Note
  • The Major and Backup servers must be of identical model no. and firmware versions.
  • Please make sure your account has access to System-Redundancy. For detailed information on account management, please see Access>Account

Disable

Choose disable if you would like to disable the redundancy service of your CMS server.

Major

Redundancy Major

Use this setting to set the current server as the Major CMS server.

  1. Mode: Choose Major from the pull-down menu
  2. Authentication code: Create an Authentication code between 4 to 64 characters. (Default: 0000)
  3. Connection port: Change the Connection port to suit your network environment. (Default: 30001)
  4. Backup server IP: Enter the IP address of your Backup CMS server.
  5. Reverse sync: Check this option if you wish to sync the content from your Backup server to the Major server.
  6. Reverse sync status: The standing on the reverse sync progress.
  7. Click Save.

  • The maximum port number is 65535.

Backup

Redundancy Backup

Use this setting to set the current server as the Backup CMS server.

  1. Mode: Choose Backup from the pull-down menu.
  2. Authentication code: Must be the same as the Major CMS server. (Default: 0000)
  3. Major server IP: Enter the IP address of your Major CMS server.
  4. Data sync settings:
    • Sync promptly: Sync content from Major when a connection becomes available. For example, sync when you restart the servers. (Default: Enable)
    • Data sync frequency:
      • Every n minutes: Set the frequency by the desired minutes. Default: Sync every 60 minutes.

      • Daily: Set the frequency by the desired times of day. You can set the sync time up to 3 times a day.

  5. Click Save.
Note
  • Whenever a Major CMS is offline, or unable to connect to its SMP players, the backup server will automatically divert the connection until the Major CMS becomes available again.
